Bihar Sprints 3 Times Faster

The CSO has revised GDP data for the last three years. All-India growth for 2010-11 has been revised down to 8.9%, revised upward to 6.7% for 2011-12, and revised down to 4.5% for 2012-13. After revision, how has the growth slowdown been distributed between states? Tamil Nadu has suffered the worst growth collapse among the 17 large states: from 13.12% in 2010-11 to just 4.14% in 2012-13, a fall of two-thirds. By contrast, Bihar has remained very resilient, maintaining double-digit growth and topping the states' ranking in 2012-13 with 14.48%.
